The mental health of young people around the world continues to deteriorate. According to a new report published by the Lancet Psychiatric Commission, growing global issues such as climate change, economic inequality and advances in technology are adversely affecting the mental health of young people. The report cites the daily updates of technology as the main reason for the impact on the mental health of young people. Today's youth are realizing that they have to keep themselves updated with new technology all the time, be it social media platforms, new applications or professional tools. This technological race has left them mentally exhausted. Many youngsters are seen lagging behind in this competition and it is affecting their confidence. On the other hand, job insecurity is another major factor in the world due to the continuous advancement in technology that affects the mental state of the youth. New technologies like automation and artificial intelligence have put many jobs at risk. Young people fear that their jobs will be taken away by machines or new technology. This fear has robbed them of their peace of mind. In addition, constant updating and learning new skills to stay employed creates additional pressure, which increases anxiety and stress among youth. Not only the stress of technology but also climate change is taking a serious toll on the mental health of today's youth. Rising temperatures, natural disasters and environmental imbalances have created uncertainty about the future of youth around the world. They fear that their lives and future may be threatened by climate change. War increases youth uncertainty about the future Recent wars and conflicts in many countries have also affected the mental health of youth. Conflicts like the Russia-Ukraine war have plunged the entire world into economic and social crisis, which has had a direct impact on the mental state of the youth. News of war, the disintegration of families and its dire impact on humanity has fueled uncertainty about the future of youth.
