Fierce war flares up in Syria: Rebels capture city, more than 250 dead; The Russian army also reached out to help the government

In Syria, the rebel group has captured the country's second largest city, Aleppo, and more than half of Idlib. According to the New York Times, the rebel group includes Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its affiliates. They are supported by al Qaeda.

In 2016, the Syrian Army drove out the rebels. This is the first time in 8 years that a rebel group has captured Aleppo. HTS attacked on 27 November and entered the city and captured several military posts.

The Syrian government closed the Aleppo airport, the hospital and all roads leading to the city on Saturday. Meanwhile, Russia has started helping the Syrian government. According to the Moscow Times, Russian forces launched a deadly bombardment on the rebels and their arms warehouses on Friday. The Russian army has claimed to have attacked 23 rebel positions and killed more than 200 rebels in the last 24 hours.

The attack, which started 3 days ago, has become a major challenge for the Bashar al-Assad government. More than 250 people from both sides have been killed in the clashes so far.

This is the biggest attack in Syria in the last four years

Rebel groups have once again launched a major offensive in Syria. About 100 people have died in this attack. This time the rebels have targeted Aleppo. In such a situation, if the attacks are not stopped in time, the Syrian regime may be on the verge of losing a major city like Aleppo to the opposition groups led by Hayat Tahrir-al-Sham. It is being said that the regime of Syria has weakened in recent times and the biggest reason for this is said to be the weakening grip of Iran. This is being called the biggest attack in Syria in the last four years.

Syria is important to Iran, as Iran uses Syria to supply weapons to Hezbollah and Hamas. In such a situation, Iran may soon give weapons to Syria. According to the report, pro-Iranian Iraqi militias may move to Syria. These militias include Kataib Hezbollah, Asaib Ahl al-Haq, Harakat al-Nujbah.

A civil war broke out in Syria in 2011

The civil war in Syria began in 2011 with the Arab revolution. Pro-democracy supporters launched protests against the dictatorial government of Bashar al-Assad, who has been in power in Syria since 2000. After this, a rebel group called the Free Syrian Army was formed.

A civil war broke out in Syria as rebel groups emerged. The conflict escalated after America, Russia, Iran and Saudi Arabia joined. Meanwhile, the terrorist organization ISIS also established a foothold here.

There have been only sporadic clashes since the 2020 ceasefire agreement. According to a United Nations report, more than 3 lakh people were killed in the decade-long civil war. Apart from this, millions of people had to be displaced.
