Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang will inaugurate the Gwadar International Airport during his visit to Pakistan this week. Pakistan's Minister of Information Ayatollah Tarar gave this information on Sunday. Kyang is coming to Pakistan on Monday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on October 15-16.
Gwadar Airport is built in Balochistan province. It is a part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. China has funded it. It was to be inaugurated on August 14 this year. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was supposed to launch it with Chinese officials, but the plan was later canceled due to the Baloch agitation.

Gwadar will be the largest airport in Pakistan A deal was struck between China and Pakistan in 2015 regarding the Gwadar airport. Work on this started in the year 2019. China has spent 246 million dollars (about 2000 crore Indian rupees) to build this airport.
Gwadar Airport is spread over about 4 thousand acres. It will have only one runway. It is used for domestic and international flights. Big planes like American Airbus can also land here. Apart from China, Pakistan has also built airports in Nepal, Cambodia, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit is going to be held in Pakistan on October 15-16. A meeting of Pakistani officials was held on Sunday (October 13) regarding its preparations. According to reports, a decision is being taken in this meeting to close the capital Islamabad for the summit.
In fact, the Pakistan government is concerned about violent demonstrations and political unrest by PTI activists. Shehbaz Sharif does not want the security situation to worsen and the country's image to deteriorate due to protests during the summit.
India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will also participate in this summit. Apart from him, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and heads of other countries will participate in the summit.
Terror attacks before the summit raised concerns Before the start of the summit, there have been 2 terrorist attacks in Pakistan. Because of this, questions have been raised about the security system. The first attack took place on October 6 near the Karachi airport. Two Chinese citizens were killed in this attack. China demanded strict punishment for the culprits.
Another attack took place on October 11 at a private coal mine in Balochistan province. In which 20 people died. According to Pakistani media Dawn, the attackers used several modern weapons, including rockets and hand grenades.
