A woman in Britain threw away her ex-boyfriend's hard drive containing 5900 crores worth of bitcoin codes. Speaking to the Daily Mail, the woman, Hefina Eddy-Evans, said that about 10 years ago, her ex-boyfriend James Howells asked her to throw out the rubbish during a sweep. I didn't know what was in it. It wasn't my fault to lose him.
That hard drive was dumped with the trash at the Newport landfill. It is still buried there under 100,000 tons of waste. However, it has become very difficult to get it now. Howells mined 8,000 bitcoins in 2009, but later realized that the hard drive containing the crypto code was lost.
Eddie-Evans said that if that hard drive is found, I don't want any of it, just for them to stop talking about it. The incident took a toll on Howells' mental state.

On City Council Rs. 4,900 crore claimed
The Howells have appealed several times to the Newport City Council to excavate the landfill. But, each time their appeals are rejected citing environmental concerns. Howells charged the Newport City Council with Rs. 4,900 crore, accusing it of blocking access to the landfill.
Howells has promised that if the hard drive is found, he will donate 10% of his wealth to build Newport Britain in Dubai or Las Vegas. His legal battle is currently underway, with a hearing scheduled for early December.

- Using this software, the issuing bank, government or other third parties were not able to track the transaction.
