A lawyer fighting the case of jailed religious leader Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu on charges of sedition in Bangladesh has been attacked. ISKCON spokesperson Radharaman Das in Kolkata has claimed this.
In a social media post with Raman Roy's picture, Radharaman Das said-
Chinmoy Das's lawyer Raman Roy has been brutally attacked. He is tossing between his life and death in the ICU. His only mistake was that he defended Chinmaya Prabhu in court. The fanatics ransacked his house and brutally attacked him.
Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, a prominent former leader of ISKCON in Bangladesh, was arrested in Dhaka last month after leading a protest in support of the Hindu community in Rangpur. He has been charged with treason. On November 26, the Dhaka court rejected his bail application. A further hearing on his bail will be held today.
