More than 70 people have died in a gang attack in the central region of the Caribbean country of Haiti. The dead also include 10 women and 3 children. More than 50 people have been injured, of which 16 are in critical condition.
The attack happened around 3 a.m. Thursday in the town of Pont-Sonde, about 60 miles from the capital Port-au-Prince. 3,000 people left their homes to save their lives.
According to the United Nations, the attack was carried out by the Gran Grief gang. They also had a shootout with the police, in which two gang members were injured.
Gran Grief set fire to more than 45 houses and 34 vehicles, forcing people to flee their homes.
In fact, there are about 150 gangs in the country, fighting each other for control of the capital, Port-au-Prince. Bleeding in the streets has become commonplace.
Haitian Prime Minister Gary Connell condemned the attack on social media platform X. He said;-
This heinous crime committed against innocent women, men and children is not only an attack on the victims, but an attack on the nation of Haiti as a whole.

Haiti's prime minister said last month that the situation could spiral out of control if the United Nations does not fulfill its promises soon.
