The body asks the question: Does pregnancy cause memory loss? Does this effect last forever?

Question: I am a 35 year old female. I have an eight year old son and my problem is his weight. He is gaining weight very fast. Earlier he used to eat a lot of junk food but now I have stopped his junk food completely for few days but still he is not losing weight. What should I do? Air Mahila (Ahmedabad) Answer : Problem like yours is seen in many households. Obesity in children can have many causes. As you said, you have stopped giving the baby junk food but it will take some time to see the effect. Nowadays children spend more time on screens, which leads to obesity among children. Also reduce his screen time. A child being obese can also be genetic. If one of the parents is obese, the child is more likely to be obese. Keep the child physically active and feed them a healthy diet. Many children do not eat fruits. If this is the case you can give them fresh homemade fruit juice to meet their nutritional needs. For this you sometimes give them orange juice, sometimes mixed fruit juice and sometimes pomegranate juice. You can also add some such vegetables to this. Due to which it can prove to be very healthy for the baby. Question: Two days ago my husband had blood 2-3 times while urinating but nothing happened since then. I am very worried about my husband's health. They don't have any big problem right? What should I do? A woman (Vadodara) Answer : Blood in urine can be a common cause and sometimes it can be a sign of a serious health problem. Blood in the urine is medically called hematuria. Blood that we can see with our eyes is called gross hematuria and blood in the urine that can only be seen through a microscope is called microscopic hematuria. This comes to light when the doctor examines the urine. Blood in urine can be caused by urinary tract infection (UTI), kidney infection, bladder or kidney stones, kidney or bladder cancer, certain genetic disorders such as sickle cell anemia, kidney injury, excessive exercise. The presence of blood in the urine should not be ignored. Get checked by a doctor immediately. Hematuria is treated depending on its cause. Question: I am a 24 year old female. I am recently married. All my peers are very fond of drinking tea but none of my in-laws drink tea. They believe that tea is harmful to health. Is this true? A Girl (Surat) Answer : Whether something benefits or harms your body depends not only on the thing, but also on the circumstances, in what manner, in what quantity, with whom, in what manner. The first thing is that if you must drink tea, don't drink it on an empty stomach. Many people live on tea instead of food. This is not correct. Thinking that if you drink tea, your appetite will go away and there is no need to eat, then this tea will not do you any good. Many people have a habit of drinking tea straight after waking up in the morning. This is a bad habit and should be changed. It is a good habit to have breakfast first thing in the morning and then drink tea. Do not take it with breakfast either and it is better to drink tea after breakfast. Question: I am a 30 year old female. My 26 year old sister is pregnant now. His memory has gone down for some time now. This has never happened to anyone in our family before. Is this possible? A girl (Rajkot) Answer : Absolutely possible. Experts from a university in Spain say that 80 percent of women experience 'brain fog' during pregnancy. The reasons for this are not yet precisely determined but it is due to changes in hormone levels. The levels of these hormones suddenly fluctuate dramatically after delivery. It takes two-three months for these hormones to reach normal levels and then the situation gradually returns to normal. If this situation continues for six months instead of three, you may need to worry and seek professional help. To prevent this from happening, every mother should be active till the last minute and should practice yoga if possible after taking the doctor's advice. Protein diet is very important for women during pregnancy. If such a diet is provided regularly, the situation remains under control. Question: I am a 52 year old male. I have been having pain all over my body for some time now. I often get pains in the head, stomach and legs. Is this a symptom of a serious illness? A Male (Various) Answer : Body aches are normal and we all experience them, but if there is pain in any part of the body for a long period of time, it should not be ignored and medical advice should be sought immediately. This type of pain is common if there is a headache, but sudden severe headache should never be ignored as sometimes headache can be a sign of brain tumor, stroke, brain hemorrhage and even migraine. If the headache is severe, consult a neurologist or neurophysician. If there is a stomach ache, we often ignore the stomach ache as a minor problem. Although stomach pain due to gas-acidity is common, if pain in a particular part of the stomach occurs without any reason, it can be a sign of a serious illness. If there is frequent pain on the left side of the abdomen, it may be due to kidney related problems or kidney stones. Pain in the right side of the abdomen can be a sign of appendicitis. Pain in the middle of the abdomen can be a sign of a stomach ulcer. Lower abdominal pain can also be due to bladder problems and urinary tract infections. So don't underestimate stomach pain. Consult a doctor. Foot pain is a very common problem. This can be due to fatigue, weakness, excessive physical exertion, nerves, muscles, joints or any disease. Often feels like leg cramps. This could be due to muscle fatigue or lack of water in the body. Deep vein thrombosis can also cause leg pain. This condition occurs when blood clots start forming in the body. This clot can form anywhere in the body, but when it occurs in the lower body, the blood supply is reduced or stopped. Prolonged bed rest is the main cause. In such a condition, the leg becomes swollen and crampy.
