The examples of many brave men who died for the sake of cows are standing tall in the history like the Sindooria Wagha. If you listen to the river flowing between the mountains in the evening, you will hear the sound of a cow going home at dusk. Ida, Bharti and Saraswati are three Vedic goddesses with Ida being called 'Go'. The origin of Gomata is Asia. It originated ten million years ago. Group life is a lesson to be learned from a cow. The gods and demons agreed to hand over the right of Kamadhenu to Shivaji and Shivaji donated the cow to the sages. From which Rishi Jamadagni got the Nanda cow. Sage Jamadagni was astonished to see the miracle of Nanda cow in the ashram. He gave Nanda cow a special place and considered her as mother. The gods asked sage Jamadagni to take the test, 'If Nanda is really your mother, show all the gods by placing her on her lap!' Nanda absorbed all the gods and goddesses in him. The gods realized their mistake. He apologized to Kamadhenu Nanda and also decided to live permanently in a cow. Since then, 33 crores of gods and goddesses reside in the cow. Govats Dwadashi is a unique celebration. On this day cows are thanked for their contribution to the sustenance of human life. This is not a routine 'Cow Day'. Sensation and rites are also mixed in this festival. This day is also celebrated as Nandini Vrat, a divine form of Nandini. This festival is known as Vasu Baras in Maharashtra. Vasu means cow. Lord Rama's ancestor Maharaja Dilip worshiped Nandini cow. Buddha was against cow slaughter. Parasurama considered Sahasrarjuna as his enemy, because Sahasrarjuna had kidnapped Kamadha's cow. Krishna considers service to cows to be the best service. Hence he is called 'Gopal Krishna'. Cow's milk is considered sacred-nourishing-relieving in every Ayurveda code. Cow is called 'Adhnaya' in Rigveda, 'Anupamaya' in Yajurveda and 'Abode of Wealth' in Arthaveda. All the nutrients are available in cow's milk. Dehydrated milk contains 13 percent solids. The rest is water. In this 13 percent, protein is three to four percent, fat three to four percent, sugar four to five percent, salt half percent, minerals half percent, vitamin half percent. Vitamins 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E' and 'K' are also present in cow's milk along with minerals like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium, chlorine, arsenic, iodine and sulphur.
