Nine forms of Varatri are known, but there is one Bija Mantra which has 11 names of Maa. 'Bij Mantra' means that the entire power is contained in a single mantra. The essence of many scriptures, weapons and Vedas and Puranas when put into a few words is called 'Bij Mantra'. This mantra is considered to give the virtue of reciting or worshiping entire scriptures with a single mantra just as one seed produces many seeds. Ma has a name, 'Moolmantratmika.' Moola means Aadhar-Dharma also means the same, one who holds! The essence of the whole religion where it is squeezed and collected is that of Jagatjana. The word 'mantra' is divided into two parts. Mantra is the constant guarding of the mind and the mind. It is the 'Mantra' that takes us away from wrong thoughts, ego, jealousy or insecurity which leads us to right thoughts and right direction. There are stories associated with the Kali form of Parvati-Jagatjana, in which Shiva-himself has crushed Mahakala under his feet, hence the conqueror of time. One who worships Him, who constantly remembers Him also attains his happy end, he can escape from Mahakala and at the time of death he can go to his end calm and healthy. Bhadrakali: Bhadram madgalan sukham wa kalayati swikaroti bhaktebhyo datum iti bhadrakali sukhprada. Who is elite despite Kali. Bhadra means – classy, well-educated, benevolent, best, sadhu, beautiful, beloved, convenient… even with all these, Kali is the same! It is not terrible, but it has taken control of time. Kapal, an incarnation of Ananta, according to the Kubjikatantram' and the 'Shatasahrasamhita'. (Many demons were born from the drop of blood falling on the ground, cutting off the head of the one who caught it in his hand and took the blood on his tongue instead of letting the drop of blood fall on the ground) Kapalini is the name of one of the thirty-six Yakshinis mentioned in the 'Udmareshwara Tantra'. In Yakshini-sadhana, Yakshini is regarded as a guardian spirit who bestows worldly benefits on the seeker. Yakshini helps in gaining wealth and power. There is a seer, there is Rudrarupa. Rudra also means crying, one who makes enemies cry. Durga: Klashen gamyate prapyate ya sa Durga as dukhen Ashtadgayogakarmopasana. If its letters are separated and understood, it is the destroyer of demons, destroyer, destroyer of diseases, destroyer of sin and destroyer of fear and enemies. Kshama: Kshamate sahate bhaktanam anyeshan va sarvanaparadhanj nitvenatishayakarunamayasvabhavaditi kshama. Man's nature is to forgive. He forgives all as far as he can, forgives all trespasses. As stated in 'Durgasaptashati' Chitirupa Shakti pervades the entire world. This Shakti is 'Shatham Prati Shubhankari'. That is, 'He shows mercy even to the wicked.' Suppressing the wicked is his skill. Shiva: The consort of Shiva, Ardhangini. Like Shiva, he also has a gentle and fierce form. As Nara and Narayani are, so are Shiva and Siva. One form of Parvati is called Shiva. Mahadev himself says in his praise that without power I am not Shiva, but a corpse. Dhatri: One who wears. Who has assumed the entire world. There is Chinmayananda in knowledge and zero Shakshini in zero. She who is 'Mother', who has produced the entire world from a fraction of herself, is Dharini-Dhatri. The Matrika-root is in the form of letters yet feeds the world with watery milk. This is Dhatri who has taken the burden of sins and virtues of all on her shoulders like the earth. Swaha: Swaha literally means 'well said' or 'well spoken'… After the mantra has been well spoken 'Swaha' is said while devoting the Samidha or Ahooti to Yajna. Swaha is the goddess of smoke and consort of the god Agni. We all have life in the form of fire. As long as the body is warm it is alive, Kamagni or Jatharagni keeps human life alive, but Krodhagni is also a form of Swaha. Swadha is Swaha's sister. Swadha is said instead of Swaha when the Shraddha mantra is chanted. Swadha is called ancestral wife. The food offered to ancestors is also known as 'Swadha'. She is the daughter of Prajapati Daksha and wife of Agnidev. Swaha is a syllable used in pious functions while swadha is a syllable used in yajnas performed for sacrifices associated with sraddha. }
