Beauty queen Sushmita Sen, who has crossed four and a half decades of beauty, will enter the fifties next year. 30 years ago today, she entered the beauty world by winning the title of 'Femina Miss India Universe'. With this, the doors of global level beauty pageants opened for Sushmita. Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen were both contestants during the Miss Universe beauty pageant, but one question changed their fortunes. There was a fierce competition between the two, but Sushmita beat Aishwarya in the interview round. Both beauty queens were asked if you could change any historical event, what would it be? Answering this question, Aishwarya said, 'Time of own birth.' Sushmita giving a smart answer to the same question said, 'Indira Gandhi's death.' And with this answer 'Miss Universe' award goes to Sushmita Sen.' In this way, at the age of 19, she won the crown of 'Miss Universe' in the world-famous beauty pageant, beating the beauties of other countries. She defeated Aishwarya Rai in the 'Miss India' contest. Born in a Bengali family living in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Sushmita Sen to father Subir Sen, a former Wing Commander of the Indian Air Force and mother Shubra Sen is a jewelery designer and store owner based in Dubai. Neelam and Rajeev are two siblings of talented Sushmita. Sushmita did her schooling from Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute, New Delhi and St. Ann's High School, Secunderabad. He also studied in a Hindi medium school. Sushmita's image was quite a tomboy in school. At the age of 16, he started learning English. Then she graduated in English subject. Sushmita, known as beauty with brain, also became proficient in journalism. In 1994, the fate of Sushmita, who became Miss Universe, took her to Bollywood. The 1996 psychological thriller Dastak, directed by Mahesh Bhatt and written by Vikram Bhatt, starred Sushmita Sen, Mukul Dev and Sharad Kapoor in lead roles. From the first Hindi film, Sushmita 'knocked' on the door of success by giving a superb introduction to her talent. Sushmita never looked back after that. She was seen on the silver screen with Salman Khan in the film 'Bwi No 1'. She was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for this film. In the year 2000, she appeared in the Hindi film 'Ankhe'. The film featured mega stars Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Aditya Pancholi, Paresh Rawal etc. Sushmita Sen wore a saree for the first time onscreen in the year 2004 when she played the role of a teacher opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the masala film Main Hoon Na directed by Sushmita Farah Khan, after earning a lot of fame and limelight in the acting field. Even after the passage of two decades, 'Chandni Chopra', beautifully played by Sushmita in 'Main Hoon Na', is etched in the hearts of cinema lovers. The film was a success at the box office. After Sushmita's name started doing the rounds in Hindi cinema, she went from 'Hindustan Ki Kasam' to 'Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag', 'Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya', 'Philhal', 'Zindagi Rocks', 'Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai', 'Dulha Mill'. Played various roles in films up to Gaya'. Many of these films did well at the box office. In her acting career, Sushmita received many awards including 'Filmfare'. Musician A. R. Sushi made her debut in Tamil cinema with the Tamil film 'Ratchagan', set to Rahman's melodious music. Although she is primarily an actress of Hindi cinema, she has also appeared in Bengali films in addition to Tamil. Apart from films, Sushmita was seen doing a strong performance in the critically acclaimed web series 'Arya' which was released on the OTT platform this year. All the three seasons of 'Arya' had massive deployment. Sushmita, who completed 49 years of life two days later and entered her 50th year, is still unmarried, but her name has become the talk of the town with many stars and celebrities so far. Her list of boyfriends is as long as her five feet and nine inches. Celebrities who entered Sushmita's unmarried life so far include names like Vikram Bhatt, Sanjay Narang, Sabir Bhatia, Randeep Hooda, Imtiaz Khatri, Manav Menon, Bunty Sachdeva, Muddasar Aziz, Wasim Akram, Hrithik Bhasin, Lalit Modi. Sushmita, who likes to write poetry in her spare time, has adopted two girls out of wedlock. Currently she is a single proud mother. }

Sushmita Sen wearing gown-gloves made by mother in beauty pageant! Film actress-model Sushmita Sen became the first Indian woman to be crowned 'Miss Universe' in 1994. During this world class pageant, Sushmita did not wear an expensive gown, but a gown made by her jewelry designer mother. If you see the picture of Sushmita when she became 'Miss Universe', you will see her wearing gloves i.e. socks. These gloves were also worn by Sushmita from the socks worn by her mother before the competition.
