This cover covers delivery, pre-natal and post-natal medical expenses. Understand the entire process To get insurance, you have to pay a fixed premium amount every month or annually. The premium amount depends on the sum insured you opt for. Sum insured depends on the type of insurance. The process of availing maternity insurance is simple. You can get it from the insurance company's website or through an agent. What is covered? This insurance covers both normal and cesarean deliveries. Medical expenses during pregnancy and after delivery are covered. This includes the cost of hospital stay, nursing charges and other related expenses. Medical expenses for the newborn's first year, such as vaccinations and essential medicines, are covered. Many companies also cover expenses like surrogacy and IVF.
