Maya Bhadauria

There are so many mysterious treasures hidden under the surface of the earth. These treasures have always been a subject of mystery and excitement for explorers. One such hidden treasure lies in the Son Bhandar Cave at the foothills of Vaibhargiri mountain in Rajgir town of Bihar. The Yaksha question here is that the cave holds the treasures of two powerful dynasties of the Magadha dynasty. Even Sir Alexander Cunningham, the founder of the Archaeological Survey of India, and some historians have associated these caves with Buddhism. Then one must go round the Son Bhandar Cave to find out what the truth is.

Who is the rightful owner of the treasure? According to one belief, the treasure of King Bimbisara of Magadha is hidden in this cave, others say that Magadha was ruled by Shiva devotee Jarasandha 2500 years before the Haryak dynasty and the treasure belongs to Jarasandha. However, it is not known who the treasure will be, but if this treasure comes into our hands, no one can stop India from becoming a superpower. For years, historians and explorers have been trying to find the treasure hidden in this golden cave, but the key to the treasure has not yet been found.

80 kings imprisoned by Jarasandha The Vayu Purana also describes the mystery connected with this gold treasure cave. According to it, Magadha was once ruled by King Brihadratha. His son Jarasandha was also a great king. He was a devotee of Lord Shiva. He defeated and imprisoned more than 80 kings. Also looted their rich treasure. It is recorded in the Vayu Purana that Jarasandha hid the wealth of all these kings by making a cave at the foot of the Vaibhargiri mountain. With the guidance of Lord Krishna, Maharthi Bhima defeated Jarasandha and killed him in the Malla War which lasted for 13 days. Thus, with Jarasandha's death, the treasure hidden in the cave was buried forever.

According to the ancient historians, the gold depository cave was built by the wife of Bimbisara, the founder of the Haryak dynasty. Also, Bimbisar had a strong obsession with collecting gold and silver. One of the queens of Bimbisara was very careful about this choice of the king. However, when Emperor Bimbisara's son Ajatashatru imprisoned his father, Bimbisara's wife hid all the treasure in this gold treasure cave. Later Bimbisar died. After that there is no mention of treasure anywhere. Description of Son Bhandar Entering the cave leads to a room 10.4 meters long and 5.2 meters wide. This room was built for the soldiers guarding the treasure hidden in the cave. On the other side of it another huge room, which no one could move. This treasure-filled room is covered by a giant rock. During the British period, the British pelted cannonballs to retrieve the treasure, but even the huge stone Tasubhar did not budge. Cannonball marks can be seen at the entrance to the treasure.

Apart from the Son Bhandar Cave in Rajgir, which houses the idols of Jain Tirthankaras in the cave, there are many other caves, which contain beautiful artefacts of the Mauryan period and the language and symbols of the Gupta dynasty. According to an ancient historical document, an inscription of the 4th century AD states that Muni Vairadeva constructed two auspicious caves for ascetics and houses the idols of 6 Jain Arhantas (Tirthankaras). From this it is clear that this place must have been under the protection of the followers of Jainism at one time. A statue of Lord Vishnu is also seen outside the cave. However, apart from Jainism, sculptures of Lord Buddha can also be seen in the caves here and symbols of Buddhism are also seen. That is why people associate this cave with the culture of Hinduism and Buddhism. If experts are to be believed, these caves may have been reconstructed. Whatever it is, the glow inside each cave is no less than a treasure. Millions of tourists from all over the world come to Bihar every year to see this mysterious gold treasure cave. And goes back after hearing the mysterious story of the cave.
