Maintaining mental health amidst the hectic lifestyle is becoming a major challenge. Problems related to this like stress, anxiety and depression are on the rise. A big reason for this is that people still don't take mental health seriously and are reluctant to talk about it. World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10 every year to raise awareness and explain the importance of mental health. If we look at the mental health problems of women, in India women have more mental health problems than men. In fact, women's mental health plays an important role in maintaining their physical health. Women at different stages of life face many responsibilities related to family, professional life and their role in society. Under these circumstances women are at increased risk of mental health related diseases due to responsibilities, work and health related reasons. Ways to maintain healthy mental health Prioritize mental health: Women are burdened with a lot of work and have to take on more responsibilities than they can, even if they don't want to. Stress, anxiety and burnout are natural in these circumstances. In such a situation, do deep breathing exercises. It will keep the mind very calm. Physical health also important: Women are very careless about their health while taking care of the whole family. In such a condition, the body becomes weak due to lack of nutrients and even a slight illness affects it a lot. In such a condition, there are symptoms like trembling in the body, feeling of something stuck in the throat, heaviness in the head, indigestion and gas, cold hands and feet. It is therefore essential that women pay attention to their diet and take some time for exercise and meditation. Live in the present: Women who multitask tend to stick to deadlines. Many times, if the work is not done within the stipulated time, she gets frustrated. Instead of panicking in such a situation, focus on today and now and even if some tasks are not completed, don't let it affect your health. Do one thing a day that makes you happy, be it watering plants or singing songs. Don't forget to live in the present. Don't overwork: Accept that no one in the world is perfect and you can't please everyone all the time. Women sacrifice their happiness and peace for everyone day and night and yet their lives go through stress and anxiety. So, don't rush to be perfect and do only what suits your health. Break work into chunks, take breaks and get enough sleep. Adopt a stress mantra : Whenever you feel a lot of stress, repeat the same thing in your mind that this time too will pass. Avoid being alone in such a situation. Talk to someone special or seek help from a therapist. Change the place and environment and keep your company pleasant.

Relationship of mental health to physical health

If a woman has a mental health problem, she may also have many physical problems because mental health is directly related to physical health. Excessive stress can also cause infertility. Á Stress can increase the levels of cortisol and other stress hormones in the body, leading to hormonal imbalance. This can lead to menstrual cycle disturbances, ovulation problems and difficulty conceiving. Á When women suffer from depression, they cannot take care of themselves. Women experience loss of appetite, sleep disturbances and lack of energy due to this depression. This affects the body's normal reproductive capacity, which can cause problems with conception. Á Mental stress can cause high blood pressure, increased heart rate and digestive system problems. Á Due to improper mental health a person suffers from depression. People suffering from depression neither feel like eating well nor exercising. They cannot even rest properly. All of these things together can harm your health, including diabetes, weight gain, and sleep-related problems. Á Poor mental health has a direct impact on a person's thinking power. In this condition, a person cannot take a proper decision on time. Most of the time a person is confused which can cause great damage. Á A person whose mental health is not balanced is prone to mental problems like depression and anxiety very quickly. The side effects of the drugs taken to treat this condition often cause physical problems. Á If the mental health is not healthy, the person has no interest in living and his enthusiasm dies. Due to this approach, he becomes careless about his diet and physical activity. If this condition persists for a long time, physical problems increase.
