Black and White: Election: Vachaneshu Kim Poverty!

As assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are approaching, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) chief Mehbooba Mufti has made promises that 'we will abolish water tax and provide up to 200 units of electricity free of cost to the families of the poor. We will re-implement the Mufti Mohammad Yojana for one to six people as the rice and rationing they are getting at present is not enough. We will give 12 gas cylinders free per year to the poor. We will double the amount for social security like old age pension, widow pension.' Apart from this, he made many promises including recruitment in government jobs, providing free electricity to temples and gurudwaras and bringing Kashmiri Pandits back with dignity, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi promised that 'we will bring back Article 370 if we come to power.' Other parties are also making concessions. BJP and other parties are also not exempt from 'promise'. Whenever we have elections there all (repeat: all) leaders of political parties make empty promises to fool the public, but if political parties really want to make promises, instead of empty promises like 'Vachneshu Kim Daridrata' Some real promises should be made (indeed the people should demand those promises. And the governments that do not follow them by making such promises should be brought home. Be it the government of the party of brother or mother-in-law or sister-in-law or cousin's son)! People of our country are very gullible. To be called stupid is naive to the extent. And that is why political parties win elections by playing with people's emotions. Anyways, no one likes bitter words these days, but this article gives a list of what kind of promises political party leaders should make if they have to make them. Let me suggest some 'to the point' promises made by the leaders of political parties to the people. First promise: In the last few days, there have been incidents of rape from different parts of the country so shocking that any sensitive person would be disturbed. After three-four-year-old girls are raped, in many cases girls or young women are killed by rape, the government of that state instead of trying to prevent such incidents from happening again, tries to reduce the repercussions of that incident soon. So all the parties should promise that we will not make any rapist leader a candidate in any election. We will not make any rapists or rapists even ordinary members of our party. Second promise: We will not only say that we are servants of the people, we will also put it into practice. We will not treat a common citizen as a servant of our father. Third Promise: We will not do corruption, we will not support the corrupt and we will not work day and night to save the corrupt when they are caught. Fourth promise: We will not take crores or crores of rupees to replace police officers (or administrative officers). We know that when we take lakhs (or millions or crores) of rupees from an official to transfer him, we force him to commit corruption and open the way for taking bribes. A police officer who gives money to get the post of 'Malaidar' will 'administer' by assigning work to middlemen after any administrative officer and is ready to dig deep in the country to earn fifty times, a hundred or even five hundred times the money he has given us according to his capacity. will be done Fifth Promise: We will not play with people's feelings nor will we exploit people in any way. Sixth Promise: We will live believing that one day we will depart from this earth. Therefore, we will try to live as a good man instead of living under the burden that we are great, we are the owner of the people without having the pride of power. Seventh Promise: We will not be shameless and utter lies. We will not commit a scandal or a scandal that causes people to shower us with rotten tomatoes, eggs or shoes. Eighth Promise: We will not make any compromise with the security of the country. We will not stoop to the low level of digging up the country by making documents including bogus Aadhaar cards and giving them Indian citizenship in our state to destroy our rival party Ninth Promise: We will not cheat or betray the people. Tenth Promise: We will not be thick-skinned. We will remember that these people put their trust in us and elected us to the Taluka Panchayat, Zilla Panchayat, Legislative Assembly or Parliament. We will be loyal to the people, not to the dangerous thugs and the white collar goons who exploit the people, i.e. the owners of billions of crores of companies who loot the people by looting the shantytowns. We will not give shelter to hooligans, we will not make them candidates of our party. There are many other promises that political leaders have to give to the people, but we will talk about that again sometime.
