In the first semi-final of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024, Sa. Africa beat defending and six-time champions Australia by 8 wickets. South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday.
Batting first, Australia scored 134 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, South Africa chased down the target by losing 2 wickets in 17.2 overs. Anek Bosch scored an unbeaten 74 runs. He was selected player of the match.
The South African team has made it to the finals of the tournament for the second time in a row. For the first time in the history of T-20 World Cup, South Africa has succeeded in defeating the Australian team.

Wicketkeeper batsman Beth Mooney scored the highest 44 runs from Australia. Captain Tahlia McGrath contributed 27 runs. In the end Alice Perry played an unbeaten innings of 31 runs off 23 balls and Phoebe Litchfield 16 runs off 9 balls.
In response to which the South African team had a great start. Captain Laura Walward opened the innings and played an innings of 42 runs. After this, Anneke Bosch led his team to victory by playing an unbeaten innings of 74 runs off 48 balls. He hit 8 fours and one six in his innings.
