Former cricketer Vinod Kambli said on Tuesday that he is feeling better now. Kambli also sang 'We Are The Champion…We Will Back' on his hospital bed. He advised people not to drink alcohol, your family will not like it.

The 52-year-old former cricketer said- 'I will never give up cricket, because I remember how many centuries and double centuries I have scored. I am grateful to Sachin Tendulkar, as his blessings have always been with me.

Kambli was admitted to a Thane hospital late on the night of December 21 as his health deteriorated. A medical report revealed a clot in his brain. Recently he was seen on Coach Ramakant Achrekar's programme. His video with Sachin Tendulkar also went viral. Kambli also suffered a heart attack in 2013. After that, Tendulkar underwent his heart surgery.

The doctor said – Kambli's health is being monitored continuously Dr. Vivek Trivedi, who is treating Kambli, said that Kambli's health is being monitored continuously. Our team will conduct an additional medical examination on Tuesday. Trivedi also said that hospital in-charge S Singh has decided that Kambli will be treated for free in our hospital for the rest of his life.

Kambli has been admitted to Akriti Hospital in Thane.

Kambli's career: Scored 1084 runs in 17 Test matches

  • Kambli made his ODI debut in 1991 and Test debut in 1993. He was the fastest batsman to score 1000 Test runs in 14 innings.
  • Scored a total of 1084 runs in 17 Test matches for the Indian team. Which includes 4 centuries and 3 half centuries.
  • Scored a total of 2477 runs in 104 ODI matches, including 2 centuries and 14 half-centuries. His performances in the 2000s were very poor and due to this he was dropped from the Indian team. He played his last ODI for Team India in the year 2000 against Sri Lanka.

When Kambli cried on the field On March 13, 1996, the World Cup semi-final was played between India and Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Sri Lanka scored 251 runs. In reply, the Indian team was in good shape at one point losing one wicket for 98 runs, but the team's batting order collapsed after Sachin's dismissal. Team India lost 8 wickets for 120 runs.

It was the 35th over and the Indian team needed 132 runs off 156 balls. Vinod Kambli 10 and Anil Kumble were present at the crease without opening the account. After this, the spectators started throwing bottles on the field. A fire broke out in a part of the stadium. The match was stopped and Sri Lanka was declared the winner. After that, while returning from the field, Kambli started crying.

After the match, the unbeaten Kambli started crying on the field.

Kambli had 2 marriages, also acted in films Kambli married twice. First marriage was to Noella and second marriage was to fashion model Andrea Hewitt. In June 2010, Andrea gave birth to Cambli's son, Jesus Cristiano. After retiring from cricket in 2000, Kambli also turned to films.

In 2002, the film 'Anarth' starring Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty and Preity Jhangia was released. Directed by Ravi Dewan, the film flopped badly. In 2009, Kambli again did a film called Pal Pal Dil Ke Saath. Directed by VK Kumar, the film starred Kambli's former cricketer friends Ajay Jadeja and Mahi Gill, but the film also failed to win the hearts of the audience.
