Udgam School for Children crowned champions at SFA Championship: More than 14,000 athletes from 387 schools across the city, aged 3 to 18, participated

In the SFA Championship 2024, Udgam School for Children, Thaltej bagged the title. Demonstrating all-round excellence, Udgam topped the table with a resounding victory amassing 311 points. Anand Niketan School, Sheelj came second while James Genesis International School stood third.

Riana Patel of The Riverside School, Ahmedabad Cantonment bagged the title of 'Golden Girl' by winning silver in tennis as well as gold in athletics and football. Meanwhile, Anand Niketan, Satellite's Yohan Pandya shone as the 'golden boy', bagging two golds and three silvers in swimming and an additional gold in yoga. Snehal Dave of Udgam School was recognized as the Most Valuable Coach.

The final day of the SFA Championship 2024 ended with thrilling finishes in football and tennis. Anand Niketan School, Satellite dominated football with double golds in the Girls U-16 and U-18 categories, while Anand Niketan School, Sheelj achieved the feat in Boys U-14 and U-18. On the tennis court, Dhruv Ahir (LDR International School), Tavasya Dixit (Global Indian International School), Manan Rai (Cosmos Castle International School) and Love Nagmeet (Utopia School) won the Boys U-12, U-14, U-16 and U-16 respectively. Claimed gold in under-18 category.

Throughout the championship, schools showcased their skills in various disciplines. The Riverside School, Ahmedabad Cantonment, emerged as the best school in athletics, showing outstanding talent on track and field, while Anand Niketan School, Sheelj secured the top rank in speedcubing and yoga, underlining their versatility. Winners Udgam School for Children dominated in several sports and was jointly named the best school in Kabaddi, Swimming, Table Tennis and Chess, reinforcing their all-round excellence.

This year the championship ran till November 26, involving contestants from across Ahmedabad in search of the best talent. This year, an impressive 14,764 athletes aged 3 to 18 from 387 schools participated in the event.

As the curtain fell on the event, the SFA reaffirmed its commitment to celebrating the next generation of champions. Ahmedabad reverberated with the powerful slogan of “Ab Jeetega India”, a symbol of pride in showcasing the city's sporting prowess and yet another important step in India's journey to become a sporting powerhouse.
