The SFA Championship 2024 Ahmedabad kicked off in grand fashion on Wednesday. The first day saw competitions in swimming, kho-kho and football games. Swimming was the biggest event of the first day. In which Udgam School for Children, Thaltej bagged the top position with a brilliant performance. Udgam School put up a brilliant performance to bag 46 points with 8 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals to lead by 26 points over second placed Anand Niketan School.
Udgam School dominated in swimming
Ayan Narang of Udgam School led the team in the swimming competition on the first day, Ayan won gold medals in the U-14 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke events. In the girls' under-14 category, Mannat Mulchandani, representing St Xavier's, won gold in the 100m backstroke, while Jenila Limbachia of Apollo International School topped the 100m breaststroke.
Hridan Shah of Nirama Vidyavihar won gold in the boys' under-16 50m freestyle, while Niharika Mishra of Shanti Asiatic School won gold in the girls' event. In the under-10 50m butterfly, Nidhan Anand of James Genesis International School won gold in the boys category and Arushi Shah of Ahmedabad International School won the gold in the girls category.
