The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) domestic cricket tournament Ranji Trophy 2024 has started. The board has changed many rules regarding this. According to media reports, the BCCI has taken strict action against players who spit on the ball and hurt the retirees during matches.
BCCI sent a press release to the state team on Thursday evening. In which information was given about the changed rules.
According to a Cricbuzz report, this rule will be applicable for all BCCI domestic matches. This new rule will be applicable for all multi-day matches and all limited over matches as well.
If the batter retires in the middle without injury, he will be considered out According to the new rule, a batter who retires for any reason other than injury, illness or incapacity will be considered out. He will not be allowed to bat again even with the consent of the opposing captain.
Even with the consent of the opposing captain, the batter will not be allowed to bat again.
Strictness on salivating on the ball According to the new rule, if a bowler or player salivates on the ball while fielding, the fielding team will be penalized and the ball must be replaced immediately. Players will also be warned.
Also new rules regarding the run of the overthrow BCCI has also changed the rules of stoppage of runs. If the batsman stops after the run and after the overthrow the balls cross the boundary before crossing each other, only 4 runs will be added to the score. Earlier, runs scored by batters while running and runs scored by overs were added to the batters' tally.
