Suryakumar Yadav, who is looking for a way back into the Indian Test team since the Duleep Trophy, has suffered an injury. Surya suffered a hand injury while fielding against Tamil Nadu in the Buchi Babu tournament on Saturday, though the severity of the injury is not yet known. There is no word on whether he will be able to participate in the Duleep Trophy or not. The match was nothing special for Mumbai and the team was bowled out for 156 in their first innings in reply to Tamil Nadu's 379. Suryakumar scored 30 runs in 38 balls in this innings. Tamil Nadu scored 286 runs in their second innings and set Mumbai a target of 510 runs. Test debut against Australia in February-2023 Suryakumar Yadav made his debut against Australia one and a half years ago in February 2023. He has only played this Test match. Surya scored only 8 runs in the first innings of the debut Test. Team India won this match by an innings and 132 runs. After Mumbai's training session in Coimbatore, Surya said, 'Many people have worked hard to make their place and I also want to get this place back. I made my Test debut for India, then got injured. A lot of people got opportunities and he did well.' He told Cricinfo – 'If my place becomes available I will also get a chance, but it is not in my hands. All I can do is perform at Buchi Babu and the Duleep Trophy and wait for my turn.' Played in the final of the Duleep Trophy last year Suryakumar played his last first-class match for West Zone in the final of the Duleep Trophy in July last year. He scored 8 runs in the first innings and 4 runs in the second innings. After this he also underwent groin surgery, due to which he was away from cricket for 3 months. However, he managed to make it to the ODI and T-20 World Cup squads. Part of Team C in the Surya Duleep Trophy, there are many players who are going to participate in the Duleep Trophy and are waiting for a place in the Indian Test team. Suryakumar is part of the Rituraj Gaekwad-led India C team in the tournament, which also includes Sai Sudarshan and Rajat Patidar.
