SL vs SA 2nd Test on thrilling twist: Sri Lanka 143 runs short of target, South Africa need 5 wickets on final day

The second Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka has reached an exciting turn. Sri Lanka need 143 runs on Day 5. While South Africa need 5 wickets. Both teams have equal chances to win.

At stumps on the fourth day, Sri Lanka scored 205 runs for 5 wickets. The team has got a target of 348 runs. South Africa scored 358 runs in the first innings and 317 runs in the second innings. While Sri Lanka scored 328 runs in the first innings.

Bavuma scored a fifty On the fourth day, South Africa opened their second innings with a score of 191/3. Tristan Stubbs led his innings with 36 runs and captain Temba Bavuma with 48 runs. Bavuma scored a fifty and was dismissed for 66 runs while Stubbs scored 47 runs.

Temba Bavuma scored half centuries in all four innings of the series.

Jayasuriya's 5 wickets From Sri Lanka, spinner Prabhath Jayasuriya took 5 wickets in the second innings. Vishwa Fernando got 2 wickets while Asitha Fernando and Lahiru Kumara got 1 wicket each. There was also an incident of beating.

Bad start for Sri Lanka Chasing a target of 348 runs, the Sri Lankan team got off to a poor start. Dimuth Karunaratne scored 1 run and Pathum Nisanka scored 18 runs. The middle order batsmen took charge of the innings, but 3 batsmen were dismissed after being set. Dinesh Chandimal scored 29, Angelo Mathews scored 32 and Kamindu Mendis scored 35 runs.

Kamindu Mendis could not score a single fifty in the series.

Captain Dhananjay De Silva led the team along with Kusal Mendis. The duo shared a fifty and took the score past 200 runs. The team scored 205 runs at stumps, with both Kusal and Dhananjay returning not out with 39 runs each. For South Africa, Keshav Maharaj and Dan Patterson have taken 2 wickets each. Kagiso Rabada also got a wicket.

South Africa lead by 221 runs on day three

Tristan Stubbs scored 47 runs.

South Africa have taken a lead of 221 runs on the third day of the match on Saturday. The team's score at stumps was 191/3. Ryan Rickleton and Kyle Varian scored centuries for South Africa. Pathum Nissanka was the highest scorer for Sri Lanka with 89 runs.
