Rohit Sharma to arrive in Australia on November 24: Will captain the team from the second Test, took a break from the first match; Gavaskar-Border Trophy starts from tomorrow

India's regular captain in Tests and ODIs Rohit Sharma will arrive in Australia on November 24. He will join the team in Perth, but will not be part of the Test squad. He will lead the team from the second Test match.

According to the report, Rohit has informed the BCCI about this. In Rohit's absence, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will lead the team in the first Test. While KL Rahul can open.

Apart from Rohit, the rest of the Indian team left for Australia on November 10-11. Rohit had already told the BCCI and the selection committee that he might miss the Perth Test.

The first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy starts tomorrow. The second Test will begin on December 6 in Adelaide, a day-night match.

The fifth and final Test of the series will be played in Sydney from January 3. India will have to win 4 Tests in Australia to reach the final of the World Test Championship (WTC).
