Player suspended for cocaine use: Hockey Australia bans Tom Craig for one year

Australian hockey player Tom Craig has been suspended for 12 months. Australia's sports regulatory body has imposed this ban. Craig, 29, was accused of trying to buy cocaine during the Paris Olympics and was also arrested. Hockey Australia said in a statement on Wednesday: 'Following an investigation into the arrest of national men's hockey team player Tom Craig during the Paris Olympics 2024, Hockey Australia's Integrity Unit has decided to suspend him for 12 months.' According to reports, Craig was released without charge after attempting to buy cocaine on August 7 following Australia's campaign at the Paris Olympics. Craig will be eligible for selection next year Hockey Australia said Craig will be fully suspended for six months. The remaining 6 months of the suspension will depend on his behavior. Craig will be eligible for selection in 2025. Australian team finishes sixth The Australian men's team finished sixth at the Paris Olympics. In the quarter-final match, they lost 0-2 against the Netherlands. Craig scored a goal in the Paris Olympics.
