Former Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambare has joined Mumbai Indians (MI) for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has also been a part of MI's coaching staff in the year 2008. Mhambare will work alongside current bowling coach Lasith Malinga and under head coach Mehla Jayawardene. He will also be present at the mega auction to be held later this year.
The franchise announced this on Wednesday. Paras was the bowling coach of the Indian team that won the T-20 World Cup on June 29 this year.
Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathore coach Rajasthan Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathore joined Rajasthan Royals last month. The franchise announced the addition of both the Indian coaches on 20 September. The Indian team won the T-20 World Cup under the coaching of Dravid and Rathore.
Paras became more successful as a coach than as a player Paras Mhambare has played 2 Tests and 3 ODIs for India. He had a brilliant first-class career, but did not have much international success. Paras is said to be more of a talented coach than a player.
Mahela Jayawardene became the head coach of MI Just two days ago, Mumbai Indians (MI) appointed Mahela Jayawardene as their head coach for IPL 2025. He will replace Mark Boucher, who was the team's head coach in 2022 and 2023.
