Para shooter Rubina wins bronze at Paris Paralympics: India wins 5 medals so far; Para shuttler Sukanth Kadam reached the semi-finals

Para shooter Rubina Francis won a bronze medal at the Paris Paralympics on Saturday. She won the medal in SH1 category of women's 10m air pistol. India has so far won 5 medals in the Paris Paralympics. Earlier on Friday, India had won 4 medals. In women's shooting, Avani Lekhara won gold and Mona Aggarwal won bronze. Manish Narwal won silver in men's 10m air pistol shooting. Preeti Pal won the bronze medal in the women's 100m T-35 category race. Sukanth Kadam reaches semi-finals Para shuttler Mandeep Kaur started the third day of the Paris Paralympic Games with a win. She defeated Australia's Celine Vinot 21-23, 21-10, 21-17 in the SL3 category of badminton women's singles. With this, Mandeep reached the quarter finals. The SL3 category in badminton includes players whose lower limbs are affected by a disability. On the other hand, Sukanth Kadam defeated Thailand's Siripong Timarom 21-12, 21-12 in 25 minutes in the men's singles SL4 group play stage. With their second straight win in the group, Kadam has secured their place in the semi-finals. Para Badminton: Nitesh Kumar wins in straight games Nitesh Kumar defeated Thailand's Mongkhon Bunsen in straight games 21-13, 21-14 in the Badminton men's singles SL3 category group stage match. He won this match in 33 minutes. Para shooting: Swaroop Mahaveer misses finals Swaroop Mahaveer Unhalkar finished 14th in the men's 10m air rifle standing SH1 qualification round. He scored 613.4 in the qualification round. Because of this, he missed out on reaching the finals. Day 2 Highlights Avni wins first medal Avni Lekhara has won India's first medal at Paralympic Games 2024. She won the Paralympic record gold medal in the SH1 category of women's 10m air rifle shooting on Friday, the second day of the Games. He scored 249.7. Korea's Eunri Lee took the silver, with a score of 246.8. India's Mona Aggarwal won the bronze medal with a score of 228.7. Manish Narwal wins silver In the fourth medal for India in men's shooting on Friday, Manish Narwal won silver in the SH1 category of men's 10m air pistol. He finished second with a final score of 234.9. Korea's Jeongdu Jo won the gold medal with 237.4 points. World and Paralympic record holder Chao Yang of China is third with 214.3 points. He won gold in Tokyo with 237.9 points, he also holds the world record of 241.8 points. Mona Aggarwal tops once Mona Aggarwal won the bronze medal in the SH1 category of women's 10m air rifle shooting. The SH1 category in shooting includes shooters whose arms, lower body or legs are affected or who have no limbs. Preity wins third medal of the day India gets bronze medal in women's 100m T-35 category race. Preeti Pal finished the race in 14.21 seconds and finished third. This was the best time of his career. The gold and silver medals went to China. Jia Zhou was first with 13.58 seconds and Qian Guo was second with 13.74 seconds. In the T-35 category, the T stands for track, while the 35 category includes athletes who have diseases such as hypertonia, ataxia, or athetosis.
