Pakistan may be stripped of hosting Champions Trophy: PCB asks govt- what to do, ICC says- Team India will not play in Pakistan

Pakistan may be stripped of hosting the Champions Trophy to be held in February next year. India has refused to go to Pakistan and play this tournament. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given official information about this to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has now sought instructions from the Pakistan government on the issue.

Pakistani newspaper The Dawn quoted a PCB source as saying that if Pakistan is stripped of hosting, it may refuse to play in the tournament. The Indian team has not played in Pakistan since 2008 due to strained political relations.

Last year, Pakistan got the right to host the Asia Cup. India played all their matches in this tournament in Sri Lanka. After refusing to go to Pakistan, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) organized the tournament on a hybrid model.

India refused to play in Pakistan The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has refused to play the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. ICC has given this information to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) through an official mail.

Pakistan rejected the hybrid model The PCB has already made it clear that it will not host the Champions Trophy in a hybrid model. The hybrid model means that the match against India in the Champions Trophy should be played at neutral venues and the rest of the tournament should be played in Pakistan.

What's next – Hosting may be taken away from Pakistan According to The Dawn, the ICC may shift the tournament to another country for Team India's participation. According to sources, the Pakistan government is taking this issue very seriously. The Pakistan government can ask the board to pull out of the tournament if the hosting is taken away.

India did not go to Pakistan in the Asia Cup, adopted a hybrid model

India defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final of the Asia Cup.

The Asia Cup was played in September last year. Pakistan was given an opportunity to host it, but India refused to go to Pakistan. After this, the ACC held the tournament in a hybrid model. All of India's matches were played in Sri Lanka and the rest of the tournament was played in Pakistan. Pakistan played their match against India in Sri Lanka.
