Pakistan eventually bowed to India's pressure: Champions Trophy to be on hybrid model, India's match to be played in UAE; Pakistan also put a condition

The ICC Champions Trophy to be held in February next year will be on a hybrid model. That means the match of this tournament with Pakistan will be played at a neutral venue. According to news agency PTI, the PCB accepted the proposal in the ICC meeting on Saturday that the match of Team India will be played at a neutral venue.

However, Pakistan has placed some conditions before the ICC. PCB wants more revenue from ICC and by 2031 all major events in India should be in hybrid model.

India refused to send its team to Pakistan for this tournament. Initially, Pakistan was adamant that India should come to Pakistan. But, after India's strong stand, the Pakistan Cricket Board has finally agreed to the hybrid model.

India's match will be held in UAE. The remaining matches will be held in Pakistan. If the Indian team goes to the semi-final or final, then this match will also be held in UAE. Earlier on Friday, the meeting regarding the hybrid model was adjourned till Saturday.

The last bilateral series between India and Pakistan was played in January 2013. Since then the two teams have met only in the ICC and ACC tournaments.
