Former fast bowler Munaf Patel has been appointed bowling coach of Delhi Capitals. Hemang Badani has become the head coach of the team, while Venugopal Rao has become the director of cricket. The franchise made the announcement on Tuesday night.
Patel will be seen in a coaching role for the first time. He retired from international cricket in 2018. Munaf was known for reverse swing and accurate yorkers. He was a member of the Indian team that won the 2011 World Cup. The team won the World Cup by defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets. Munaf also won the IPL in 2013 with Mumbai Indians.

Patel replaces James Hopes Munaf Patel has replaced former Australian all-rounder James Hopes in the Delhi franchise. DC abandoned Hopes in July 2024.
Earlier, Ricky Ponting left the franchise. Sourav Ganguly was also with the franchise last season. He has been made the new Cricket Director of JSW Sports.
Akshar Patel can become the captain of the team The franchise has retained Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs and Abhishek Porel ahead of the mega auction. Akshar Patel may be made the captain of the team for the next season. DC has released Rishabh Pant.
