Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman has been appointed as the coach of Team India for the tour of South Africa. Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir is going to tour Australia. In such a situation, Laxman has been made the coach of the white ball team.
Cricket website Cricbuzz has claimed that Laxman has been appointed coach, although the BCCI has not confirmed this. The Indian team is going to tour South Africa next month. This series will be played from November 8.
The coaching staff also included Bahutule, Kanitkar and Ghosh Laxman will be accompanied by Sairaj Bahutule, Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Subhdeep Ghosh, who are associated with the National Cricket Academy, as supporting staff. Bahutule was recently the head coach of India-A for the Emerging Asia Cup. Whereas, Kanitkar was the batting coach and Subhdeep Ghosh was the fielding coach.
The team will leave for South Africa around November 4. India will play four T20 internationals on November 8, 10, 13 and 15 in Durban, Gabera, Centurion and Johannesburg respectively. The BCCI announced a 15-member squad led by Suryakumar Yadav for four T20 matches on October 25 (Friday).
India-A was defeated by Afghanistan-A by 20 runs in the semi-final of Emerging Asia Cup-2024. Later, the Afghan team also became the champion.
Clean sweep in the home series against Bangladesh Team India swept the 3-match home series against Bangladesh 3-0 this month. Hardik Pandya was the player of the series in this series. He scored 118 runs and also took one wicket. Apart from this, in the third match, Sanju Samson scored his first century in T-20 Internationals.
