The mega auction of IPL 2025 could be held in Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25 next month. According to a Cricbuzz report, the BCCI considered several cities, but Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, is considered to be the frontrunner in the race. However, there is no official information from BCCI yet, but the dates and venue may be almost the same.
The first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be held in Australia will be played in Perth from November 22 to 26. The match will be shown on Disney Star, the official broadcaster of the IPL. In such a situation, the auction can be held in the afternoon. However, there is a huge time difference between Australia and India.
BCCI officials have already visited Saudi Arabia If reports are to be believed then some BCCI officials have already visited Saudi Arabia. Now another BCCI team is likely to go to Saudi Arabia. The BCCI also considered some other venues like Dubai, Singapore and London, but in the final decision, Riyadh has been awarded the hosting rights. Where the mega auction can be held for two days.
Last date for retain list 31st October October 31 is the last date for teams to retain players in IPL 2025. The team has to submit their list of players to the BCCI by 5 pm on the same day. The Cricbuzz report further states that the team would prefer to hold the auction in India if given the option, but currently no Indian city is an option for the BCCI.
