IPL 2025 dates announced before auction: Teams get three-season schedule; All countries agreed to play their players

The next season of IPL will start from March 14 and its final will be played on May 25. The IPL gave this information in an email sent to the team on Thursday. According to Cricinfo, IPL has sent draft schedules to all teams for the next three seasons, but these are likely to be the final dates.

The 2026 season will be played from March 15 to May 31 while the 2027 season will be played from March 14 to May 30. The 2025 season will feature 74 matches, the same as the previous three seasons. There was talk of 84 matches per season when the BCCI sold its rights, but this has not happened yet. However, there is no official statement from IPL or BCCI regarding this yet.

IPL claim presence of foreign players in all three season windows The IPL has claimed in an email sent that the foreign players have agreed to their achievement for the next three seasons. Foreign players have received permission from their boards to play during this period. This does not include Pakistan.

Kolkata Knight Riders are the defending champions. The team won the title by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the final.

The Australia Cricket Board agreed for all three seasons The Australia Cricket Board has cleared its domestic and international cricketers to play in the IPL 2025 season. After the T20 World Cup to be held in February-March 2026, the Australian team will play a three-match ODI series with Pakistan. The series will end before March 18. The only Test between Australia and England will be played in March during the 2027 season to commemorate 150 years of Test cricket. After which Australian players will be available for IPL.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has also released the list of players included in the central contract, which will be available for the next three seasons of the IPL. However, the name of England Test captain Ben Stokes is missing from this list. Stocks are not included in IPL 2025 mega auction. The list of players fully available between 2025 and 2027 includes Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Jonny Bairstow, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler, Bryden Carrs, Zach Crowley, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Liam Livingston, Ollie Pope , Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, The names of Olly Stone and Reece Topley are also included.

Sri Lanka Cricket also agrees Sri Lanka Cricket has said that its players will be fully available for the 2025 season. Players retained before 2026 and 2027 will be available again.

Bangladesh sent a list of 13 players The Bangladesh Cricket Board has sent 13 names with different availability for each player over a period of three years. The list includes Taskin Ahmed, Liton Das, Mehdi Hasan, Shakib Al Hasan, Rishad Hussain, Tauheed Hridayoy, Shoriful Islam, Shohidul Islam, Hasan Mahmood, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Mustafizur Rahman, Naheed Rana, Tanzin Hasan Shakib.

Apart from this, players from South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will be fully available.

BCCI announced the final list of 574 players for the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction on 15th. In which 366 Indian and 208 foreign players are involved. The base price of 81 players is Rs 2 crore.
