I would have bowled first too, the situation is challenging – Indian captain Rohit Sharma

I would have taken that first bowling as well. The pitch is a bit soft. There will be challenging conditions here. We have prepared well, so we will back our ability and play the way we know how. Looking at the 10 Test matches, every match is important. But we want to focus on that. We came here a week ago, we prepared well for this. We feel confident. Three seamers and two spinners – Bumrah, Akash Deep, Siraj, Ashwin and Jadeja.

We want to use the pitch- Bangladesh captain Shanto

Pitch report and records

The first Test match between India and Bangladesh will be played on a red clay pitch. However, spinners dominate in Chennai. Spinners get a lot of turn here. However, red clay pitches are also helpful for fast bowlers, as the new ball here gives a lot of swing and the bounce is also excellent. A total of 34 Test matches have been played here so far. India won 15 and the visiting team won 7. While 11 matches were also drawn.
