Team India has made a huge comeback in the fourth match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy being played at the MCG Stadium in Melbourne. At one point the team was threatened with follow-on. Currently the team is behind by 116 runs. India scored 358 runs for 9 wickets in the first innings till stumps on the third day. Nitish Reddy is unbeaten on 105 and Mohammad Siraj scored 2 runs.
In the first session yesterday, Pant scored 28 runs and Ravindra Jadeja scored 17 runs. Then Team India's score was 221/7. From here Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar avoided the follow-on by putting on 127 runs off 285 balls for the eighth wicket. Washington was dismissed for 50 runs off a fine 162 balls. Pat Cummins and Scott Boland took 3 wickets each for Australia. Nathan Lyon got 2 wickets. Two days ago on Friday, December 27, Australia scored 474 runs in the first innings.
Nitish Reddy's maiden Test century Nitish Reddy has completed his century. He completed his first century by hitting a four off the third ball of Scott Boland, who was bowling his 115th over. Along with this, he has become the third youngest Indian to score a century in Tests in Australia.
After completing the century, Reddy knelt on the ground, buried his bat in the ground and celebrated by hanging his helmet on it. He was seen looking up at the sky and thanking God.
