ICC launches Women's T20 World Cup theme song: Pop group WiSH sings 'What Ever It Takes'; First match on October 3

ICC has released the official event song 'Whatever It Takes' ahead of the Women's World Cup starting on October 3 in the UAE. The song, released on YouTube channel, has also launched the official music video along with the soundtrack, which shows a cinematic preview of the tournament. It features highlights of iconic moments of women's cricket.

Issuing a press release on Monday, ICC General Manager (Marketing and Communications) Claire Furlong said, ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is the best platform for world class players to shine. Women's cricket is firmly established on the global stage, and we aim to further enhance its recognition with the launch of the official event song. The song was sung by all-girl pop group WiSH India's first female pop group WiSH has sung this song. The music director of the song is Mickey McCleary and the composer is Parth Parekh. It is produced by two music houses. ICC has released this song on its YouTube channel.

The matches of this tournament starting from October 3 will be played at Dubai International and Sharjah in UAE. The Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe Cricket Boards also expressed interest in holding the tournament in their respective countries, but the council decided to hold the match in the UAE.
