Gambhir's exact answer on Border-Gavaskar trophy: Said- I'm not under pressure, Ponting looks at Australia, what does it have to do with Indian cricket; Rohit-Kohli comeback

Team India's coach has denied any pressure ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. On Ricky Ponting's statement, he said that he should focus on his cricket.

Gambhir held a press conference before the team left for Australia. Gambhir was in front of the media when Team India lost the Test series 3-0 against New Zealand at home.

Gambhir said, 'I am not under any pressure. The team's seniors will make a comeback in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). If Rohit is not available for the Perth Test, Bumrah can take over the captaincy.'

Team India will play a 5 test match series in Australia. It will begin in Perth on November 22. The last Test will be played between January 3 and 7.

Gambhir's response to 5 challenges before BGT

1. Virat-Rohit Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli did not perform well in the 3-match series against New Zealand. New Zealand made a clean sweep. Rohit Sharma scored a total of 91 runs in 3 matches. Kohli's figure was 93 runs. Gambhir said, 'Both of them still have a tremendous appetite for performances and runs. Both will return to Australia. We have a lot of great players in our dressing room who have played great cricket.

2. Ricky Ponting Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting recently said on Kohli's form that he has scored only 2 centuries in the last 5 years. He also said that Team India will not play well in BGT and will lose all the matches. On that Gautam Gambhir said that Ponting should focus on Australian cricket, what does it have to do with Indian cricket.

3. Defeat and pressure from New Zealand After the Test series loss to New Zealand, some reports claimed that Gambhir would be under a lot of pressure in BGT. If he does not give good results, he can be removed from the post of Indian coach. On the question of pressure, Gambhir said, 'I am not under any pressure. We are facing criticism. We are openly accepting it. We need to move on. We are going to play a new series in Australia.

4. Australian position Coach Gambhir said, I am not thinking about the players adjusting to the Australian environment. Nor am I thinking of the transition phase of the team. Change or not, I am thinking about 5 Test matches. We have some strong characters in our dressing room who are hungry to do well.

5. Rohit Sharma There is a possibility that due to personal reasons, Rohit Sharma will not be able to play the first Test being played in Perth. On this, Gambhir said that if Rohit does not play, Jasprit Bumrah will take the captaincy. He is the vice captain of the team. In this situation, KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Iswaran can open in place of Rohit.
