Gambhir: It's not right to judge Kohli after every match: I'm not worried about form, his appetite for runs is still the same as the first match

Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir has said that he is not worried about Virat Kohli's poor performance. Kohli is as hungry for runs as he was on debut. This hunger makes him a world class cricketer.

Gambhir said at a press conference in Bengaluru on Monday – It is not right to evaluate Virat after every match. I am sure he will score runs in the series against New Zealand and also in Australia.

Kohli has scored only one fifty in the last 8 Test innings. He then played an innings of 76 against South Africa in Centurion in December 2023. Even in the recently concluded two-Test home series against Bangladesh, his performance was nothing special.

He scored 6 and 17 runs in the first Test played in Chennai. In the second Test played in Kanpur, he scored 47 runs in the first innings and 29 not out in the second innings.

Gambhir's hope- Virat will make a comeback in the New Zealand Test Gautam Gambhir said- Hopefully Virat will return to form and give his best performance in the three-match home Test series against New Zealand. The first match of the three-Test series against New Zealand is scheduled to be played from October 24. My view on Virat is very clear that he is a world class cricketer. He has performed so well over the years.

If we are getting a favorable result, then there is nothing to worry about. Not every player can perform at their best every day. Our job is to support the players. My job is to pick the best 11, not to exclude anyone. We have eight consecutive Tests to play and all eyes are on a good performance.

Virat is the second player after Sachin to score the most centuries in international cricket Only Sachin Tendulkar has scored 100 centuries in the history of cricket. Virat Kohli is second with 80 centuries. Australia's Ricky Ponting is third in terms of scoring the most centuries. He has scored 71 centuries.

Sachin has scored 51 centuries in Tests and 49 centuries in ODIs. Virat has scored 29 centuries in Tests, 50 in ODIs and one century in T20s. Ricky Ponting has scored 41 centuries in Tests and 30 centuries in ODIs.

Virat retired from T20 Virat has retired from T20. He announced his retirement from T20 Internationals after India won the World Cup this year. He was named player of the match in the final against South Africa, scoring a crucial innings of 76 runs. Virat has scored 4188 runs in 125 T-20s played so far. That includes one century and 38 half-centuries.

Virat Kohli announced his retirement after becoming the highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup.

Gambhir and Kohli clashed during IPL matches in 2013 and 2023 Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli collided on the field during the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2013. Gautam Gambhir questioned Kohli's profanity when he was abusing him after his dismissal in that match. A fierce confrontation was seen between these two giants in this tension.

The matter got so bad that Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli got into a scuffle. Other players present on the field settled the matter.

On 1 May 2023, Gambhir collided with Virat Kohli during a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Stadium. According to reports, Kohli misbehaved with Naweel-ul-Haq. Gambhir was then the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants. Later, the match referee fined both of them.
