Emerging Asia Cup…India beats Pakistan: Tilak Verma scores 44, Anshul takes 3 wickets; Brawl between Abhishek and Sufiyan

India-A beat Pakistan-A by 7 runs in their first match in Emerging Asia Cup 2024. Indian captain Tilak Verma won the toss and elected to bat first at the Al Emirates Cricket Ground in Oman on Saturday.

Team India scored 183 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Pakistan team could score only 176 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Tilak Verma scored 44 runs. Anshul Kamboj took the most 3 wickets. Anshul was adjudged player of the match.

Sufiyan gives Abhishek a send off During the match, there was a brawl between Abhishek Sharma and Pakistani bowler Sufyan Mukeem. Sufiyan came to bowl the seventh over for Pakistan. He took the wicket of Abhishek on the very first ball of the over. After dismissing Abhishek, Sufiyan sent him off with a finger on his mouth. Seeing this, Abhishek got angry and started staring at her and the two got into an argument. After this the umpire intervened.

An altercation broke out between Indian all-rounder Abhishek Sharma (right) and Pakistani bowler Sufiyan.

Tilak played an innings of 44 runs Tilak Verma scored 44 off 35 balls for India-A. Wicketkeeper batsman Prabhasimran Singh scored 36 runs and star opener Abhishek Verma scored 35 runs. Nehal Vadhera contributed 25 runs and Ramandeep Singh contributed 17 runs. Sufiyan Mukeem was the highest wicket taker for Pakistan-A with 2 wickets.

India-A captain Tilak Verma won the toss and decided to bat first.

Anshul Kamboj took 3 wickets Arafat Minhas played the highest innings of 41 off 29 balls for Pakistan-A chasing the target. While Yasir Khan contributed 33 and Qasim Akram 27 runs. Anshul Kamboj was the highest wicket taker for India-A with 3 wickets.

Ramandeep Singh took a diving catch with one hand Left-arm spinner Nishant Sindhu came to bowl the ninth over during Pakistan's innings. Yasir Khan played the first ball of his over. The ball was heading for the deep mid-wicket boundary for 4 but then Ramandeep got there running and took a diving catch right-handed.

Ramandeep dived and took a great catch with the right hand.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka won two titles each This is the sixth season of the ACC Men's Emerging Asia Cup. Six teams are participating this time. Group A consists of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Hong Kong. While Group B consists of India, Pakistan, Oman and UAE. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have won two titles each. While India has won once.
