India's domestic season has started with the Duleep Trophy. Mushir Khan, playing for India-B, scored a century on the first day of the season. The format of this 6-match tournament has changed from the current season. This time 4 teams are participating. India A faces India B in Bengaluru while India C plays D in Anantapur. Led by Abhimanyu Iswaran in Bengaluru, India-B batsman Mushir Khan remained unbeaten on 105 runs till the end of the first day's play. During this he hit 10 fours and 2 sixes in 227 balls. Earlier on Thursday, India-A captain Shubman Gill and India-C captain Rituraj Gaekwad won the toss. Both captains have decided to bowl. 1. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar could not open the account. Team A's Khalil Ahmed, Akash Deep and Aweesh Khan got 2 wickets each. BCCI said on Wednesday that Ishan Yadav and Suryakumar Yadav sustained injuries in the Buchi Babu tournament, while Krishna could not fully recover. Many players are looking for a way into Team India from this tournament. The Indian team is scheduled to play a Test series against Bangladesh from September 19. New format of Duleep Trophy From this season Duleep Trophy is being played in a new format. Earlier it was in zonal format. Now the players are divided into four teams. Ishaan, Surya and famous not to play in first round Indian team's wicketkeeper batsmen Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and famous Krishna Duleep will not participate in the first round of the trophy. BCCI informed on Wednesday night that Ishaan and Surya Buchi Babu were injured in the tournament. While the famous did not fully recover. Most times West Zone won the Duleep Trophy The first season of the Duleep Trophy, named after Kumar Sri Duleep Singh of Nawanagar, was played in 1961–62. In the first tournament, West Zone defeated South Zone by 10 wickets in the final. Additionally, West Zone is the most successful team in the competition with 19 trophies. Till date, 61 seasons of Duleep Trophy have been played.
