December 15th WPL Mini Auction in Bengaluru: 19 slots vacant in 5 teams, ₹16.7 crore budget; Gujarat has the largest purse

The Women's Premier League (WPL) mini auction will be held on December 15 in Bengaluru. BCCI has informed all the five franchise teams about the auction. 19 players are vacant in 5 teams, out of which 14 Indian and 5 foreign players will be bought.

5 teams have Rs. 16.7 crore purse, Gujarat Giants has the highest Rs. 4.40 crore purse will be taken. The third season of WPL will start in January or February next year.

Purse limit Rs. 15 crores The purse limit for a team is Rs 15 crore. After retaining the player, the team's purse has reduced. Delhi has Rs 2.50 crore and Mumbai only Rs 2.65 crore. In Bengaluru Rs. 3.25 crore purse and in UP Rs. 3.90 crore purse. The Gujarat team will enter the auction with the biggest purse.

6 major players will enter the auction The most surprising decision of retention was taken by Mumbai and Gujarat. MI released English all-rounder Isabelle Wong and GG released Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana. Both players will participate in the auction. Apart from them, the names of Heather Knight, Catherine Bryce, Laura Harris and Lauren Bell will also come up for auction.

Which team retained how many players? There are 18 players in a team. Except UP, all the teams retained 14 players each. While UP has retained 15 players. That is, only 3 players in UP and 4 players in other teams are vacant. RCB are the defending champions of the tournament. Mumbai won the title in the first season. Both teams defeated Delhi Capitals in the final.
