Christchurch Test- Brooke's century, England 319/5 in first innings: Ollie Pope hits half-century, loses 3 wickets for 45 runs; New Zealand 348 all out

England have made a huge comeback in the Christchurch Test against New Zealand based on Harry Brook and Ollie Pope's innings. At stumps on Friday, the English team scored 319 runs for 5 wickets. Harry Brook is unbeaten on 132 off 163 balls. Captain Ben Stokes (37 not out from 76 balls) is supporting him.

The English team had lost 3 wickets for 45 runs till the lunch break. Opener Jack Crowley was dismissed for zero while Jacob Bethel scored 10 runs. Ben Duckett contributed 46 runs.

The pair of Harry Brook and Ben Stokes shared a partnership of 97 runs off 130 balls.

Harry Brooke's double partnership England's batting all-rounder Harry Brooke had a double partnership. He put on 151 off 188 balls for the fifth wicket with Ollie Pope. After Pope's dismissal, he shared an unbeaten 97 with Ben Stokes. Ollie Pope was dismissed for 77 runs off 98 balls. He was caught by Glenn Phillips off the bowling of Tim Southee.

The New Zealand team was all out for 348 runs The Kiwis started the day with a score of 319/8. The team lost the last 2 wickets for 29 runs and were all out for 348 runs. Glenn Phillips, who led the innings with 41 runs, completed his fifty and returned unbeaten on 58 runs. While Tim Southee was dismissed for 15 runs and William O'Rourke for zero runs.

Bashir and Kars got 4 wickets each For England, Shoaib Bashir and Braden Kars took 4 wickets each while Gus Atkinson got 2 wickets.

Braden Kars took 4 wickets for 64 runs in 19 overs.
