Bangladesh win Test series against Pakistan for the first time: 2-0 series clean sweep with 6-wicket win in second match

Bangladesh has won a Test series against Pakistan for the first time in the history of cricket. In the second match played in Rawalpindi, the team defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets on the final day of the match on Tuesday. Liton Das scored a century in the first innings for Bangladesh. Bangladesh also recorded a historic 10-wicket win against Pakistan in the first Test match. With this, the team led by Nazmul Hussain Shanto won the two-match Test series 2-0. Before this, 5 Test series were played between the two teams and all of them were won by Pakistan. Both the teams played a Test for the first time in the year 2001. A 119-run partnership between Shanto-Mominul Haq in the second innings saw Pakistan bowled out for 172 in the second innings on Monday. The team gave Bangladesh a target of 185 runs to win. Today i.e. Tuesday, Bangladesh started playing its second innings with a score of 42 runs. In the second innings for Bangladesh, captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto and Mominul Haq shared a partnership of 119 runs off 57 balls. For the team, Zakir Hasan scored 40, Shanto 38, Mominul 34 and Shadman Islam 24. At one point the team lost 6 wickets for 26 runs. Here, Liton Das and Mehdi Hasan put on a 165-run partnership to take the team past 190. Liton scored 138 and Mehdi Hasan scored 78 runs. Khurram Shahzad took 6 wickets from Pakistan. Liton Das' century Liton Das scored 138 runs off 228 balls in the first innings. This was the fourth century of his Test career. The second century was against Pakistan. He is the first player from Bangladesh to score two centuries in Test cricket against Pakistan. Pakistan team was bowled out for 274 runs in the first innings On the second day of the match, the Pakistan team lost the toss and came to bat first and were bundled out for 274 runs in the first innings. Saim Ayub (58), captain Shan Masood (57) and Agha Salman (54) played half-centuries on behalf of the team. While spin bowler Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 5 wickets from Bangladesh. In response to Pakistan's first innings, Bangladesh came into bat and by the end of the second day had scored 10 runs without losing a wicket. The first day was washed away by rain The first day of this match being played on the Rawalpindi ground was washed away by rain. The match was scheduled to start at 10:30 am IST, but due to rain, the toss could not take place until 12:45 pm. After this the umpires ended the first day's play as the rain did not stop. Bangladesh ahead of Pakistan-Sri Lanka in WTC points table Bangladesh won the Test series against Pakistan to register its third win in this WTC cycle. The team now has 33 points from 6 Tests with 3 wins and 3 losses. The team has now surpassed West Indies, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is seventh with 33.33% points, Pakistan is eighth with 22.22% points and West Indies is ninth with 18.52% points. India is at the first position with 68.52% points and Australia is at the second position with 62.50% points.
