Former veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has returned home after retirement. He reached Chennai on Thursday morning. Where he was welcomed with flowers and garlands amid band and music. Returning home he embraced his mother and father. His mother hugged him and got emotional and started crying.
38-year-old Ashwin returned home and said- 'I am going to play for CSK. I will try to play as much as possible. I don't think Ashwin played as a cricketer. Yes, Ashwin has played as an international cricketer.'
When asked if it was a difficult decision to retire, the veteran spinner said, '…it wasn't. This is emotional for many people. To me this is a relief and a satisfaction…This was on my mind for a long time, but it was very spontaneous. I felt it on the fourth day and accepted it on the fifth day. Wife and daughters reached airport to receive Ashwin's wife along with her daughters reached the airport to receive him. She didn't go inside the airport and wait for him to come out in the car. After coming out, Ashwin sat in his black Volvo car and left for home. The beat of the band welcomed him home with flowers and garlands. Here the relatives hugged him.
