Now most of the companies in the Indian market are moving towards electric four wheelers. This includes the Hyundai Creta EV along with Maruti's upcoming eVX. Not only this, the name of Honda's Elevate EV is also joining this list. In fact, Honda is going to introduce a brand new electric SUV in the Indian electric vehicle market. This will depend on Elevate. This upcoming model will be the brand's first model under its new project ACE (Asian Compact Electric). It could be launched in late 2025 or early 2026. The Honda Elevate EV (codenamed DG9D) will be manufactured at Honda's Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.
Honda will make some changes to the existing Elevate platform for electric vehicles. This will help the company to reduce its costs. It will not need to make additional investments and rearrange its existing production line-up to build the new electric SUV. According to reports, Honda India's exports are likely to double by 2025, with exports accounting for 30 to 40% of total production.
His official picture has not come out yet Honda hasn't announced a specific amount, but it has confirmed that additional investment has been earmarked for future EVs. “As we mentioned earlier, we are going to launch BEVs in the next three years, so naturally that requires some investment. We plan to further our electrification,” Tsumura said. Currently, no official photos of the upcoming Elevate EV have been revealed, but it is expected to retain its full silhouette as the petrol-powered Elevate. The SUV may be given several EV-specific designs to differentiate it from the ICE version.

The electric SUV is likely to get a battery pack of around 40-50kWh capacity with a front-axle mounted electric motor. It is expected to be able to deliver a range of over 400Km on a single charge. When launched, the upcoming Elevate EV will compete directly with models like the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curve EV, Maruti Suzuki EVX and Mahindra BE.05.
