Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the facelifted version of its best-selling sedan Dzire on November 11. The fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Dezire will be based on the company's hatchback Maruti Swift platform, but will have a completely different design. The car will get a sunroof, 6 airbags as standard and many segment first features.
The sedan will be launched in the market in only 5 variants – LXI, VXI, VXI(O), ZXI and ZXI+. The ex-showroom price of the updated model is expected to start at Rs 6.99 lakh. Currently, the price of Dezire starts at Rs 6.57 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete against Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor in the sedan segment.
Interior: Design inspired by the Swift facelift and Fronx The new-gen Dzire will get an all-new dashboard layout with a black and white dual-tone theme, inspired by the Swift facelift, Francais, Baleno and Brezza. It will get a new dashboard layout with a 9.0-inch floating infotainment system, sleek AC vents and HVAC controls at the bottom.
Apart from this, the car has wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology, over 40 connected car features, wireless charger, semi-digital cluster with 4.2-inch MID, steering wheel mounted controls, automatic climate control, push-buttons. A rear parking camera with sensors and much more will be available.
Performance: The new Z-series petrol engine will be available The biggest change to the popular sedan will be in its powertrain. In place of the K12 four-cylinder petrol engine found in the current model, it will now get the Z-series' new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which comes in the new Swift. This engine generates 82hp of power and 112Nm of torque.
In comparison, the current model generates 90hp and 113Nm, down 8hp and 1Nm. The new Swift will have a choice of 5-speed manual and automatic (AMT) gearboxes with the engine for transmission.
