'Maserati GranTurismo' Sports Car Launched In Indian Market: This Car Can Run To 100kmph In Just 3.5 Seconds, Starting Price ₹2.72 Crore

Italian luxury car maker company Maserati has launched the second generation super sports car 'Maserati GranTurismo' in the Indian market on August 30. The company claims that this car can sprint to 100kmph in just 3.5 seconds. Maserati has introduced this car in two variants namely Modena and Trofeo. The Modena variant is priced at Rs. 2.72 crore and the top variant Trofeo is priced at Rs. 2.90 crore (both priced ex-showroom, India). In India, the GranTurismo competes with other GT cars like BMW M8 Competition (Rs 2.44 crore), Ferrari Roma (Rs 3.76 crore) and Aston Martin DB12 (Rs 4.59 crore). The company said it will launch an all-electric variant of the car, the GranTurismo Folgore, next year. Maserati GranTurismo: Design Talking about the design, the Gran GranTurismo looks similar to its older model. This new car from Maserati is the luxury GT, which comes with coupe styling. It has an oval grille at the front with the Trident logo, which also acts as an air channel. The new headlamps feature L-shaped LED DRLs and Maserati's signature triple gills on the sides. The rear of the car gets LED tail lamps and better aerodynamic features. The car is now 78mm longer and 108mm wider than before, though its wheelbase has been shortened. The Trophy gets aggressive styling elements with carbon fiber components. Maserati GranTurismo: Powertrain The Maserati GranTurismo has a 3.0-litre V6 twin turbo petrol engine for performance. In the Modena variant this setup generates 485bhp of power and 600Nm of peak torque, while in the Trofeo variant this engine generates 544bhp of power and 650Nm of peak torque. The company claims that the Modena variant can accelerate to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds, while the Trofeo variant can accelerate in just 3.5 seconds. As for the transmission, both variants get an all-wheel drive layout. The top speed of the GranTurismo Trofeo is 320 kmph. Maserati GranTurismo: Interior and Features Talking about the cabin of the GranTurismo, its dashboard has been given a sporty look. Two seats are provided at the rear of the car, with good space available. The dashboard features a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen, a secondary 8.8-inch touchscreen below for climate control, a 12.2-digit instrument console, digital watch and optional head-up display, and a Sonus Faber audio system.
