Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to launch its two electric cars XEV 9e and BE 6e on November 26. The company has released a new teaser that reveals the battery packs of both the cars. Both EVs will come with 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs.
Before this, the exterior and interior design of both the cars have already been revealed. Both electric vehicles have a coupe roofline and will be the first electric cars to come under the new XEV and Born Electric brands, which will be based on the new Inglo platform.
Both the electric cars can be offered with multi-zone AC, wireless phone charger and premium audio system. For safety, safety features like 6 airbags and Level 2 ADAS can be offered as standard.
Exterior Design: Both EVs are based on the Anglo platform The upcoming XEV 9e and BE 6e are based on the INGLO platform, which is designed for high performance. Electric cars with rear-wheel-drive, front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations can be produced on this platform. The XEV 9e will offer the feel of a luxury electric car, while the BE 6e will deliver bold and athletic performance.
According to the new teaser, the XEV 9e and BE 6e electric SUVs will get a futuristic, aerodynamic design with sharp looking elements. The front of the XEV 9e features L-shaped LED DRLs, a closed grille with integrated LED lightbar and vertical lighting, a swooping bonnet and a new Mahindra EV logo.
At the same time, the BE 6e will have a front light system inspired by the XUV 3XO and will have the BE logo instead of the Mahindra logo. The BE 9e features inverted C-shaped connected LED DRLs and connected LED tail lights. Both the electric SUVs will get bold character lines and large wheel arches.
Interior: Both have a 2-spoke steering wheel and a panoramic sunroof Earlier, the cabins of the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e were glimpsed. The XEV 9e has a triple screen setup, which includes a digital driver display, a touch screen and a passenger display. While the BE 6e has a dual integrated screen. Both models get a 2-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo and a panoramic sunroof.
There will be support for 175 kW DC fast charging The company has shared the battery pack and electric motor specifications of both the cars. Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra BE 6e will have 59kWh and 79kWh battery pack options. For charging, they will have support for 175 kW DC fast charging. With this, the battery will be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
Both cars will be rear-wheel drive with electric motors mounted on the rear axle, with power outputs between 231hp and 286hp. Mahindra has not revealed their standard range yet, but their standard range could be anywhere from 450km to 500km.
Features: Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System may be available Talking about the features, the XEV 9e can be provided with multi-zone AC, wireless phone charger, premium audio system and ventilated and powered seats. It will also have vehicle-to-load and regeneration modes available.
Whereas, the BE 6e can also be offered with multi-zone AC, wireless phone charger and premium audio system. For passenger safety, it can offer safety features like 6 airbags, 360-degree camera and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) as standard.
Starting price Rs. 24 lakh ex-showroom The Mahindra Mahindra XEV 9e will compete with the upcoming Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV. At the same time, the BE 6e will compete with Tata Curve EV, MG ZS EV, upcoming Maruti e-Vitara and Hyundai Creta EV.
