Chennai-based electric startup Raptee.HV today launched the first high-voltage electric motorcycle. According to the startup, the design of this electric bike uses the technology used for electric cars around the world. This bike is able to compete with 250-300 cc ICE (petrol) bikes in the market.

Which is used in electric cars. The bike will come with an onboard charger, which is also available at CCS2 car charging stations across the country.
How is the look and design? Looks and design are similar to a sports bike. Most of the bike is covered and along with stylish LED headlights, it has a touchscreen digital instrument cluster. In which information like bike speed, battery health, time, stand, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation is available. The bike, which comes with a split seat, also has grab handles at the rear that will remind you of the TVS Apache.
How is the performance of the bike? The company has provided a 5.4kWh capacity 240 volt battery in this motorcycle. Which comes with an IDC certified range of 200 km on a single charge. The company claims that this bike is capable of providing a range of at least 150 km on a full charge. The bike's electric motor generates a peak power of 22kW which is equivalent to 30 BHP of power and 70 Newton meters of torque.
This bike is also great in terms of pick-up. The Raptee.HV can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in just 3.6 seconds. Its top speed is 135 km per hour. The bike has three different riding modes, including Comfort, Power and Sprint.
How long will charging take? With Raptee.HV the company is offering all kinds of charging options. It can be charged by connecting it to a normal household socket. Apart from this, its battery can also be charged with the help of a fast charger at the charging station. The company claims that the battery of this electric motorcycle can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 40 minutes. Apart from this, the fast charger can charge the battery in just 20 minutes so that you get a range of at least 50 km. The in-house charger can charge the battery up to 80 percent in 1 hour.
Safety and Warranty The company has used an IP67 rated battery pack in the Raptee.HV. Which keeps it completely protected from dust, sunlight and water. The company is offering a warranty of 8 years or up to 80,000 km on the battery of this bike. It offers advanced software features that help improve the riding experience. It uses in-house developed electronics and a custom built operating system. which is based on an automotive-grade Linux platform.
How much does the bike cost? The price of this bike is Rs. 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). In which you will get four color options: white, red, gray and black. All color variants are priced the same. The company has started its official booking. The company will start delivery of the first phase from January next year. At present, you can get a bike for 1000 rupees on the company website. First of all the delivery of bikes will be done in Bengaluru and Chennai. After this, there are plans to launch it in 10 other cities as well.
