Hyundai Exeter launches affordable sunroof variant: Price starts at ₹7.86 lakh, 6 airbags for safety in all variants of mini SUV

Hyundai Motor India has launched the affordable sunroof variants S+ and S(O)+ of the micro SUV Exeter. The S(O)+ variant is priced at Rs 7.86 lakh and the S+ variant is priced at Rs 8.44 lakh. With the introduction of the new variant, the sunroof feature Exeter manual at Rs. 37,000 and the AMT version at Rs. 46,000 cheaper. Its ex-showroom price in India is between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.43 lakh. Both the variants have a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Hyundai has introduced S+ variant with automatic transmission and S(O)+ variant with manual transmission. According to Hyundai, all variants in the sub 4-metre micro SUV segment are offered with 6 airbags. It competes with cars like Maruti Ignis, Nissan Magna, Renault Keiger, Citroen C3 and Maruti Front. Over 40 advanced safety features To set the benchmark in safety, Hyundai has offered over 40 advanced safety features in the Actor, of which 26 will be available across all variants. Many segment first safety features like TPMS (highline) and burglar alarm are included. Features of the car include headlamp escort function, auto headlamps, child ISOFIX seat, rear defogger and rear parking camera. It also gets 60+ Blue Link connected features including dual dash cams and Home-to-Car Alexa supporting Hinglish voice commands. Segment First Mobile Connecting Dual Dash Cam According to Hyundai, Exeter is the first car in the micro SUV segment to feature a smart electric sunroof with voice command and a dashcam with dual (front and rear) cameras. It comes with a 2.31 inch LCD display, which can be connected to a smartphone. Dashcam also supports Full HD video resolution. Users can take pictures from both the front and rear cameras. The dashcam offers different recording modes like Driving (Normal), Event (Safety) and Vacation (Time Lapse) for multiple recordings. Home to Car Alexa Feature with Hindi-English Commands The Exeter is the first car in the mini SUV segment to get Home to Car (H2C) Alexa with Hindi and English commands. Connected features inside the car are related to safety and security, location based services, vehicle diagnostics and voice assist. Embedded voice commands work even without internet connectivity. These commands can also be in Hinglish. Interior Design: 8.0-inch touchscreen with 60+ features Exeter's dashboard is similar to the one found in Grand i10 Nios and Aura. It has an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 60+ features including Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Hyundai's BlueLink connected car technology. The unit comes with in-built navigation. It can be customized in 10 local and two global languages. The screen digital cluster will share details like drive statistics, parking distance, door open, sunroof open as well as seatbelt reminder displays for all seats. The interior of the car is stylish and quite spacious. To give the interior a sporty feel, the seats are covered in semi-leatherette upholstery with 'Exeter' branding. Exterior Design: H-Shaped LED Daytime Running Lights Talking about the design elements of the car, the front has H-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), which are connected by a thin black strip. The company has given the car a new grill with a unique design. LED projector headlamps are available on it. These projector headlamps are enclosed in two square shaped cases. The front face is complete with skid plates and 'EXTER' badge. Diamond-cut alloy wheels fitted in black-out wheel arches give the car a sporty look. If we look at the side profile, the car gets a floating roof design, bridge-type roof rails and side body cladding. It also gets features like H-shaped LED tail lamps and funky alloy wheels. The Exeter will be available in six single and three dual tone colors. Performance: E20 fuel ready petrol engine There are two engine options to power the Hyundai Exeter. The first is the 1.2 liter 4 cylinder naturally aspirated Kappa petrol engine, which will be E20 fuel ready. It generates 82bhp of power and 113nm of peak torque. This engine is offered in Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, i20 and Aura. 5-speed manual transmission (5MT) and Smart AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) options are available with this engine. The other is a 1.2 liter 4 cylinder bi-fuel Kappa petrol CNG engine, tuned to a 5-speed manual transmission. The company claims that the car gives a mileage of 19.2 kmpl in petrol and 27.1 kmpkg in CNG.
