Midsize SUV segment leader Hyundai Creta is all set to enter the EV market this January. Ahead of its official launch at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi this month, the company has revealed the specifications of the EV SUV. Hyundai has also given information about the battery options of the Creta EV.
Battery specifications and charging options Hyundai has now officially revealed that the SUV will be available in two variants. A 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh.Hyundai claims that the pickup does 0 – 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds. The entry-level version offers an ARAI-rated range of 390 km. According to the company, the Creta Electric can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in 58 minutes with DC charging, while an 11 kW AC home charger can charge it from 10 percent to 100 percent in 4 hours.
Exterior Hyundai has retained the design of the Creta ICE. The front of the version features connected L-shaped LED DRLs, vertically stacked twin LED headlights and an active air intake placed inside the front bumper to maintain the temperature of the elements.
The charging port is placed behind the Hyundai logo on the front grille. The new 17-inch alloy wheels have been ergonomically designed specifically for the Creta Electric. At the rear, the SUV will get the same connected LED lights along with the electric badge, but the bumper will get a new pixelated design.
Interior The cabin layout is similar to the ICE version of the Creta. It gets a 10.25-inch twin screen infotainment system and instrument cluster. According to the TVC, the interior color will remain dual-tone, although the Creta EV gets a new three-spoke steering wheel similar to the Ioniq 5, but the drive control style is different.
It will have multiple driving modes, a panoramic sunroof and a regenerative braking system that offers a one-pedal driving model. It offers vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, which allows users to power external devices both inside and outside the vehicle, turning it into portable power for added convenience and versatility. It gets six airbags, level 2 ADAS, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control (ESC) and many other features.
Variants, Color Options, Price The Creta EV will be available in four variants. Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence and 10 color options will be offered for these four variants, including eight monotone and two dual-tone color options, three of which are in matte finish.
The Creta EV is likely to start at Rs 20 lakh and will compete with the upcoming Maruti Suzuki E Vitara, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE6 and Tata Curve EV.
