Honda Elevate Apex Edition launched in India: SUV claims mileage of 17kmpl with cosmetic updates, starting price ₹12.86 lakh

Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) today (September 16) launched the new Apex edition of its popular mid-size SUV Honda Elevate in the Indian market. The company claims that this car runs 17 kilometers on one liter of petrol. This special edition of the Elevation is based on the V and VX grade variants.

Ahead of the festive season, the Japanese carmaker has introduced them with manual transmission (MT) and continuously variable transmission (CVT) options. It is priced between Rs 12.71 lakh and Rs 15.25 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). In the segment, it competes with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Marucci Grand Vitara, Toyota Hiride, Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kushak, MG Aster and Citroen C3 Aircross.

Honda Elevate Apex Edition: What's New Based on bold design, spacious and comfortable interior and advanced features, the Apex edition of Honda Elevate has been introduced with a new premium package and will be available in all color options. The company has made some cosmetic changes to the exterior and interior of the Apex Edition of the car.

It has piano black accessories and special edition badging. The front features piano black inserts with silver accents at the bottom and rear bumper with chrome accents, piano black garnish inside the doors, Apex Edition badging on the front fenders and Apex Edition emblem on the tailgate.

Also, ivory white and black cabin theme has been given in the interior. Its doors are treated with white leather. The car will get a premium leatherette IP panel, 7 color ambient lights, Apex Edition signature seat covers and cushions. Apart from this, no changes have been made to the car.

Exterior: Option of 16 and 17 inch wheels with LED headlights Talking about the design of the Elevate, the whole car looks boxy. The front has a large grille, LED headlights and two round fog lamps. On the side, Honda's new mid-size SUV has slightly flared wheel arches that give it a sporty look.

The window line extends above the C-pillar. The Elevate V variant gets 16-inch alloy wheels and the VX variant gets 17-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the Elevate has a rear window and wraparound tail-lights. It also gets a large indentation on the tail-gate to house the number plate.

Interior: Features like 8 inch touch screen and ADAS The Elevate's interior features an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic AC and a 4-speaker sound system. Its VX variant gets features like single-pane sunroof, leatherette-wrapped steering wheel, semi-digital driver display and wireless phone charger. This variant also gets rear wiper and washer and lane watch camera. The top variant of the car gets features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, 6 airbags and Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS).

The Elevate comes with Honda's own sensing ADAS suite, which includes features like collision mitigation braking system, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, road departure warning and automatic high beam assist. Apart from this, features like Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Watch, Rear Seat Reminder, Rear Parking Sensor, Honda Sense and Emergency Stop Signal have been provided in the Honda Elevate SUV. The body of the SUV is made of high tensile steel, which ensures minimal damage during an accident.

Performance: Honda City platform and engine The Honda Elevate is built on the Japanese firm's global small car platform. The Honda City sedan is also built on this platform. It will have a 1.5-litre 4 cylinder DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine, which generates 121hp of power and 145Nm of torque. The engine will be optioned with a 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox. This engine has also been used in Honda's sedan car City.

This car can run 679 km on a full tank The company claims that the Elevate will get a certified mileage of 15.31kmpl with the manual gearbox, while with the CVT automatic transmission it will do 16.92kmpl on one liter of petrol. The company said that a 40 liter fuel tank has been provided in the car. Also, the Elevate with the manual gearbox can cover a distance of 612km on a full tank and 679km on the automatic variant.
